November 11th 2012

Another late night/early morning. Another batch of good music to listen to.

After my hour long nap around 9pm, I woke up feeling oddly refreshed, yet confused. I initially woke up at 1:30 that afternoon, took a bus ride downtown, came back home, and then fell asleep again at nine, but only for an hour. I don't know what I did in my six-odd hours of consciousness to being with that made me so tired so soon. But no artist brings in the hallucinated shoe-gaze pop rock more professionally than Deerhunter. Whenever I listen to this band I can't help but want to fall into a state of    dream-heavy sleep and not want to wake up. With great tracks like "Helicopter", "Nothing Ever Happened" and "Strange Lights" falling in love with this sound is something very easy to achieve in a short period of time. There's something about their simplistic, hypnotic sound that keeps you interested album after album after album.

I've been up for almost ten hours now and just reached the twilight hours of Halcyon Digest as well as the night. Both seeming quick and painless. "He Would Have Laughed" just came on. The sun is rising: what do you do now?
